Six Months Old

Jillybean is six months old! Actually she turned six months old last week but I am just now getting her six months pics. Oh well better late than never. She weighs over 20 pounds and after mastering sitting up and rolling over in her fifth month she is now working on pulling up which you can see in the pics she is getting pretty good at and she can get in the crawling position but hasn't gotten anywhere with that yet. Right now she just rocks back and forth in that position.

Here I go...
Working on it...
Almost there...
Getting closer...
Did I do it?
I think I did!

I made it!!

Here she is in the crawling position. Pretty soon I will be chasing after her I think.

Vacation Days 6 & 7

On Tuesday we started our trek home :( After we got home we mostly just chilled out at home getting settled back in. Then, Wednesday with one day left of Jay's vacation time we decided to go back to the local water park we visited on Memorial Day. It was great because when we went before Jane was a little too cautious to go on the water slides by herself but this time she acted like she owned the place! She went on every single water slide (including the huge blue one you see behind in that picture with Jay and Jill) by HERSELF! She really has come into this "threeness" overnight.

Kisses for her sister!

Jillybean was maxing and relaxing...

Speaking of Jane's "threeness" here is a quick aside:
A couple of weeks ago Jane was playing with a little boy at the play place at the mall and they stopped playing to have a conversation but I couldn't hear what they were saying. It looked very serious so later I asked her what she and the boy were talking about. She says, "potty training" HA! That wasn't a term we had used with her so I thought it was pretty funny. A few days later she told me she wanted to do potty training so though we had dabbled in it a bit before we did it in full force. There were a few accidents the first couple of days but pretty soon she was going all day and through naps too completely dry. Before we leave to go somewhere now she will say, "wait, I need to go potty first". I can't tell you how proud we are of how quickly she has done it and really almost completely on her own too!

Vacation Day 5

It's dinosaur day!

Jane has been all about dinosaurs lately. Her favorite movie right now is Jurassic Park! She will ask to watch "the dinosaur movie" and I will put on The Land Before Time and she'll say, "No, the REAL dinosaur movie". So when we went to Moody Gardens and saw that they had a bunch of dinosaur exhibits it was right up Jane's alley. We decided to save all of the activities for one day and make it "dinosaur day". Jane was super excited!

First we went to the "Dinosaurs Alive!" They had these dinosaurs that move and "look at you". Jane was pretty nervous at first but very excited to see "real" dinosaurs.

Jill was asleep through the whole exhibit.

This dinosaur gave Jane a big hug and she walked away saying, "that dinosaur loves me!"
Then we went to see a 3D IMAX show about dinosaurs. Here is Jane showing off her glasses! She thought the 3D was great. She kept trying to reach out and touch the dinosaurs.

Then we went to the rainforest pyramid which Jane didn't think was as cool. She kept saying, "I want to see the 'aminals' now". I said, "come on plants are cool too." Jill certainly thought they were! :)
Then we found dinosaurs in the rainforest so maybe it wasn't that bad after all...

We also saw a 4D movie about dinosaurs. The movie itself was 3D and then the seats would vibrate and move and we were getting sprayed on (dino spit I suppose?). Jane thought that was a little too much I guess because she was sitting in the front row with Jay and she jumped up and ran and sat on some strange lady's lap thinking it was me. too funny!

Vacation Day 4

This morning we headed out to MOODY GARDENS!
First we checked into our hotel room...

Jane is pretending to talk on the phone to her friend Jennifer (we eventually had to unplug the phone afraid of what might be on our hotel bill!)

Here is the view from our room.

Then we headed over to Palm Beach which is a waterpark right off the ocean and there is sand everywhere you walk. Super cool but I got no pictures because I was afraid to take my camera down there.

Next we came back to the hotel room and changed. We met up with Matt and Julie. Jill and Caleb hadn't seen eachother in almost a day so they were happy to catch up!

We all went to the aquarium...

Then we went to dinner and then the hotel pool- again no pics :( Maybe I need to invest in a waterproof camera?

Later that night they had a fantastic fireworks display you could see right from our hotel room window but sadly Jane had already fallen asleep from such a busy day. Jay and I enjoyed it though!

Vacation Day 3

Happy Fourth of July!!!
We went out to Jay's Paw Paw's lake house! Jay has told me many stories about going out to his Paw Paw's when he was growing up so I was very happy to have experienced it too.

A lot of the family went swimming in the lake. Here is Uncle Marcus and Pops.

Caleb decided he was more of an inside baby (it WAS 105 outside!)

There was a lot of great food! Jane especially liked the cupcakes! Isn't she so nice to share with Pops?

Vacation Day 2

We are staying with our friends Matt and Julie and their neighborhood had a fourth of July parade with a contest for the best decorated in each category (wagon, bike, dog, and stroller). Julie and her neighbor Shelly both entered the contest. We decorated Julie's stroller and she and Caleb walked in the parade.

Here are the two strollers!

I think Caleb enjoyed the parade.

The first place prize for the parade was a babies-r-us gift card.
And the winner is.....

JULIE!!!!

Later that night the two girls had their first bath together.

Vacation Day 1

We drove to Matt and Julie's in the late morning and got here early afternoon. Caleb and Jill took some time getting reacquainted.

Jane was such a good big sister to Jill and to Caleb too. She was refereeing the toys and here she is reading Caleb a book.

Later on we all went to the pool!
